Prairie Fire takes viewers back to the closing weekend of Nature’s Table, a popular restaurant and nightclub. It was a center for jazz musicians, political activists and people who liked healthy food. It was torn down to provide space for a planned chemical/life science building at the University of Illinois.

It’s a shame such a lovely place was destroyed. I actually grew up in Urbana and never even knew this place existed, granted I was only 9 when it closed. Nevertheless, this was a very beautiful look at a piece of history which I believe truly represents the spirit of my hometown. Thank you for posting this video.
