Prairie Fire visits the community of Stelle, 30 miles southwest of Kankakee, where 110 residents are preparing themselves for a world catastrophe in the year 2000 by trying to live self-sufficiently. The community’s residents believe that human perfection is attainable, and they begin educating their children at birth to give them a head start on learning.
