Participants in the Lake Shelbyville Musket and Drums Muster talk about why they leave their ordinary lives behind to adopt the characters of a people who lived during the Revolutionary War. The re-enactors not only participate in mock battles, but also celebrate the everyday lives of soldiers. There are tomahawk and bayonet competitions. Women compete in the Molly roll contest to see who can strip “bodies” on the battlefield of valuables such as boots and guns in the fastest time.
