The Exotic Feline Rescue Center is one of the largest rescue centers in the country for abused, abandoned, and neglected exotic felines. The EFRC was founded by Joe Taft in 1991 and has grown over the years to spread more than 100 acres in Center Point, Indiana. Cared for by a small group of devoted professionals, the cats go through an astonishing 3,000 pounds of meat a day, live in custom-made enclosures, and even get dental work done by the vets at the U of I. Steve Drake visited the EFRC and went on an amazing, guided tour provided by the director himself.

Is the Exotic Feline Rescue Center located in Lincoln, Ill or Center Point, ID. or maybe both towns have a location.  We wanted to take our 15 yr. old grandson to visit there.  Thanks.

The Exotic Feline Rescue Center is indeed located in Center Point, Indiana (just outside of Terre Haute)  I’ve included a link to the website on this page for anyone who might be interested in learning more about what the center does, its hours of operation, etc.  I would highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in big cats.  It is a terrific experience to be so close to these animals and to see the genuine affection shared between Joe Taft and his staff and these amazing creatures.

I have been here several times and i love it. The animals are a marvel to see and hear. When they roar the earth seems to move under your feet. I am going on the ride this Sunday Sept 20th with a bunch of friends and family. My son Larry his wife Rosie help out there and so has my grandson Joshua. My husband Ronald Duncan and his Co A&C trucking have also donated their time and trucks to load gravel for this wonderful cause. God Bless you Joe and all your staff for caring for these wonderful animals. With out everyone helping they would not have survived. Thank you for letting me see this wonderful place.
