On this week's Prairie Performances, Friday at 7 pm on WILL-FM 90.9, a concert with the Champaign-Urbana Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Stephen Alltop.
Two composers will be presented, both titans in the composer’s pantheon. The first is Igor Stravinsky. We will hear his ballet “Petrushka.” The second composer is Ludwig van Beethoven. His Fifth Piano Concerto created quite a stir at its premier in late 1811.
Tonight’s soloist for Beethoven’s “Emperor Concerto” is Israeli pianist Ran Dank.
