On this week's Prairie Performances, Friday at 7 pm on WILL-FM 90.9: Bold and beautiful, this program of three “B’s” will move and thrill with works illustrating composers’ perspectives in creating their second works in a given genre. Following the popular and commanding Second Essay of Samuel Barber, Alexander Borodin’s Symphony No. 2 brims with memorable melodies. Brahms’ spacious and powerful Piano Concerto No. 2, perhaps his most personal musical creation, will shine brightly in the hands of renowned pianist Anton Nel.”
