White Chicago police officer Jason Van Dyke has been found guilty of second-degree murder and 16 counts of aggravated battery with a firearm in the shooting death of black teenager Laquan McDonald.
The University of Illinois at Chicago says a student living off campus, 21-year old Jabari R. Dean, is in custody related to a threat at the University of Chicago Monday. It led to the school canceling all classes and activities scheduled for Monday on its main campus. Dean is charged with transmitting a threat in interstate commerce.

Laquan McDonald was shot 16 times after allegedly refusing to follow officers' instructions as he walked down a street with a knife in October 2014. The officer who shot him was charged Tuesday with murder.
