As The 21st celebrates this milestone, Illinois Public Media is excited to announce the addition of a fifth station, reaching an internal goal set by the team before the show even began broadcasting.  

The 21st—a production of Illinois Public Media airing on four public media stations across state—is excited to announce a partnership with Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism. Beginning in May, Host and Executive Producer Niala Boodhoo will be hosting live broadcasts of the show from Medill’s downtown newsroom. 

Illinois Newsroom—the statewide, seven-station journalism collaborative, spearheaded by Illinois Public Media and funded through a $715,000 grant from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) as well as support from the public media partner newsrooms—launches with the appointment of a new leader.
