With all the attention on the Summer Olympics in Rio, some may not know that more events will be held in the city about three weeks from now. Seven athletes from the University of Illinois are currently competing there, but seventeen others with connections to the Urbana campus are prepping for the Paralympics, starting September 7. There's a chance to meet these athletes in downtown Champaign Sunday, including 4-time medialist Josh George.

University of Illinois graduate Tatyana McFadden has won her fourth straight women's wheelchair race at the Boston Marathon. McFadden completed the 26.2-mile course from Hopkinton to Copley Square in an official time of 1 hour, 42 minutes, 16 seconds.
University of Illinois wheelchair athletes had a strong showing in Sunday's New York City Marathon, with Tatyana McFadden winning the women's division, and Josh George placing second among the men.
