The Chicago Cubs are World Series champions. Ending more than a century of flops, futility and frustration, the Cubs won their first title since 1908, outlasting the Cleveland Indians 8-7 in 10 innings of a Game 7 thriller early Thursday. "It happened. It happened. Chicago, it happened," first baseman Anthony Rizzo said. "We did it. We're world champions. I tell ya, we're world champions. I can't believe it."

Jake Arrieta took a no-hitter into the 6th inning, and Kyle Schwarber went 2-for-4 in his second game back with the Cubs in Wednesday's 5-1 victory in Cleveland. It was the Cubs' first World Series victory since game 6 of the 1945 World Series againt Detroit. The series now heads to Wrigley Field for game 3 on Friday night.
