Maurice “Moss” Bresnahan is the CEO of WILL-TV, AM and FM, the PBS and NPR stations based at the University of Illinois. He's also CEO of WTVP, the PBS station for Peoria. His experience includes working in the cable TV business; for newspapers in the Boston area; and as a press aide for the mayor of Boston--his hometown. He also served as an officer in the Naval Reserve. Moss has dedicated his career to public service media, having served as CEO at other PBS stations, including KCTS in Seattle, South Carolina ETV, and WVPT in Virginia. He earned his BS and MS from Boston University.
Director of Development
Danda Beard is Development Director at Illinois Public Media. She leads the annual and planned giving, corporate support and marketing staff, who are responsible for raising more than $2.4 million annually. Beard has spent most of her career at Illinois Public Media, having previously worked for WCBU, Peoria, Illinois, in corporate support. She is a member of the College of Media Executive Committee and has achieved CFRE (Certified Fund Raising Executive) status.
Chief Digital Officer
Mike has been working with Illinois Public Media as Assistant Dean of Technology for the College of Media since 2014, responsible for managing IT services within WILL. In 2016, he also assumed the role of Chief Digital Officer. Mike is responsible for Illinois Public Media’s online content publishing and distribution platforms including website, mobile app, online streaming, and content on demand. Mike has been building and maintaining websites since 1994 with work at businesses including small startups and marketing companies.
Director of Content and Strategic Communications
Lisa Bralts is Illinois Public Media’s Director of Content and Strategic Communications, overseeing the stations’ marketing, TV/video content creation, and FM services. She’s also contributed content for the station, including the Backyard Industry audio/web series; Center of the Universe: Ebertfest 2016; Course Work, the Bandwagon podcast, and others. Bralts has lived in central Illinois since 1996, working in non-profit, municipal government, and the music business before arriving at Illinois Public Media in 2012. She’s a graduate of Macalester College in St. Paul, MN.
Director of Broadcast Operations
Lillie began her career at Illinois Public Media in July of 2004 as the TV Traffic Manager. In her 13 years at WILL, her role has evolved into the Assistant Director of Content & Continuity and now the Interim Director of Station Operations, overseeing TV and Radio Traffic, Broadcast Operations, Engineering, and ensures station workflow amongst the internal departments. Lillie currently serves on the PBS Traffic Advisory Committee, PBS Operations Advisory Committee and the PBS Interconnection Working Group. She is also on the board of the Digital Convergence Alliance. Lillie got her start in Public Broadcasting as a student at WTIU in Bloomington, Indiana.
Director of Community Content and Engagement
Kimberlie Kranich has worked at Illinois Public Media in various roles since 1998. As Director of Community Content & Engagement, she oversees the Education and Illinois Radio Reader Departments and directs station-wide projects that combine storytelling and engagement with community partners to highlight and address needs. She has a long history serving youth with media projects. Kimberlie has a master’s degree in journalism from Northwestern University and previously worked at WPSU in State College, PA, and WTAJ-TV in Altoona, PA.
Director of Programming Services
David Thiel screens, selects and schedules programming for WILL Radio and TV. He also works directly with WILL-FM’s classical music hosts. Previously, he produced several series for WILL-TV, including Critics’ Choice, Mid-American Gardener and Illinois Pioneers. He joined the WILL family in 1989.
Elizabeth works with many WILL departments and has a broad knowledge base of the stations’ activities, including events, facility uses, management and much more. If she doesn’t know the answer, she knows where to find it. She has been with WILL since 1999.
