NPR celebrates great teachers past and present

New series on WILL-AM 580's Morning Edition and online. First up was a report on Socrates and the Socratic method.

A year-long series from NPR's Education Desk (nprEd) celebrates great teachers past and present -- and reports on what makes teaching great. The 50 Great Teachers project kicked off with NPR's Eric Westervelt's report on Socrates, the ancient world's superstar teacher. He also visits two schools in the San Francisco Bay area that use the Socratic method. Listen to his report.

Be sure to follow @npr_ed to tell nprEd about the great teachers you've known. Or email your own story -- 500 to 1,000 words -- about a great teacher in your life, to npred@npr.org.
