The Evening Concert

This week on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 you’ll hear Mozart’s “Prague” Symphony from New York, Beethoven’s “1st Piano Concerto” from Chicago”, Beethoven’s “Violin Concerto” from Milwaukee, Rachmaninoff’s “2nd Symphony” from Pittsburgh, then Sunday Grieg’s “String Quartet” from Lincoln Center and “Music for the Duke of Milan” on “Early Music Now”.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 you’ll hear Bach’s Brandenburg Concertos numbers 2, 4 and 6 on “The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center”.  At 8:00 you’ll hear the group Ensemble Leones on “Early Music Now with Sara Schneider”.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. Guest conductor Gustavo Gimeno leads the group in Ravel’s “2nd Suite from “Daphnis and Chloe”. Also on the program Rodrigo’s “Fantasia Para un Gentilhombre” with guitarist Pablo Villegas. 

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra. You’ll hear Chabrier’s “Espana” and Rimsky-Korsakov’s “Capriccio espagnol”. Jun Märkl guest conducts. Also on the program Falla’s “Nights in the Gardens of Spain” with pianist Jorge Federico Osorio.

Tonight at 7:00 on the Evening Concert on FM 90.9 it’s the “Chicago Symphony Orchestra Radio Broadcast”. You’ll hear Liszt’s “Prometheus” symphonic poem and excerpts from Wagner’s “Twilight of the Gods”. Simone Young guest conducts. Also on the program Schoenberg’s orchestration of Brahms’ “1st Piano Quartet”.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week”. David Zinman guest conducts the Philharmonic in two Beethoven symphonies, the 1st and the 3rd.  Also on the program Hartmann’s “Concerto funebre for violin and orchestra” with soloist Gil Shaham.

This week on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 you’ll hear Beethoven’s “3rd Symphony” from New York, a symphonic poem by Liszt from Chicago”, Falla’s “Nights in the Gardens of Spain” from Milwaukee, Rodrigo’s “Fantasia Para un Gentilhombre” from Pittsburgh, then Sunday chamber music from Lincoln Center and an episode of “Early Music Now”.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the second program in a new season from the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. Guest conductor Gianandrea Noseda leads the group in Schumann’s “2nd Symphony”. Also on the program Prokofiev’s “5th Piano Concerto” with soloist Jean-Efflam Bavouzet.  

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the second program in a new series from the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra. Ken-David Masur leads the group in Tchaikovsky’s “4th Symphony”. Also on the program Sibelius’ “Violin Concerto” with soloist Augustin Hadelich.
