Mid-American Gardener: Planting garlic, scale on burr oaks, switchgrass, perennials

Mid-American Gardener guest host Shane Cultra is joined by Steven Still, Kelly Allsup and Rusty Maulding to answer viewer questions. They talk about perennial plants, including a switchgrass that is the 2014 Perennial Plant of the Year, planting garlic, how to kill ghost flowers andoverwintering knock-out roses. Allsup shows off some grasshoppers she uses in educational programs.

Mid-American Gardener host Dianne Noland welcomes special guest panelists Sandy Mason, Bill Vander Weit and Doug Williams. Arborist Bill Vander Weit discusses sweet gum trees and mimosa trees. Horticultural educator Sand Mason talks about flowering plants and whether there are truly pink daffodils. Doug Williams talks about perennials seeds and a magnolia tree that won't bloom.
