Television Icon Lear, Actress Huppert, To Attend 19th Ebertfest

Producer Norman Lear, who rose to prominence with programs like "All in The Family", and "The Jeffersons" has been announced as a guest at the 19th Annual Roger Ebert's Film Festival, scheduled for April 19-23 at Champaign's Virginia Theatre, accompanying the 2016 documentary "Norman Lear: Just Another Version of You." Also announced Friday as a guest is actress Isabelle Huppert, accompaying the 2016 thriller "Elle" for which she received an Oscar nomination.

On the 21st: As Illinois celebrates President  Abraham Lincoln’s 208th birthday, we talked to people who have made it their life’s work to present Abraham Lincoln in classrooms, at libraries, on stage, even at birthday parties. Plus, we spoke with food historian Rae Eighmey about her book, “Abraham Lincoln in the Kitchen: A Culinary View of Lincoln’s Life and Times.”

No Grammy Wins For C-U Area Nominees

Artists and producers with Champaign-Urbana ties walked away from Sunday's Grammy Awards empty-handed. Nominees included Champaign-based Archeophone Records (in two categories), renowned bariton U of I Lyric Theatre Director Nathan Gunn, and Urbana native Molly Netter, who was featured in a recording by the New York-based Clarion Choir.

Urbana Mayoral Candidates Debate Crime, Economy

In the first debate for Urbana mayor, the three Democrats - all women - focused on two main themes - crime and policing, as well as business development and taxes. About 60 people filled the Urbana City Building to watch Monday's event organized by the League of Women Voters of Champaign County. The three-way Democratic primary pits incumbent Mayor Laurel Prussing against Alderwoman Diane Marlin and Rev. Evelyn Burnett Underwood.

The Trump Administration & Illinois Manufacturing; Drug Interactions; Mark Morris Dance Group

On the 21st: We continued our week-long series on the impact of a Trump presidency on Illinois' economy with a discussion about manufacturing and jobs. Plus, we talked about Governor Rauner's plan to protect pharmacy customers from risky drug combinations and discussed how is Illinois divided on the soda vs. pop question. We also spoke with the founder of Mark Morris Dance Group, which will be performing in Urbana this weekend.
