Rauner Condemns Trump Comments, Keeps Stance On Syrian Refugees

Gov. Bruce Rauner Tuesday described Donald Trump's call for a ban on Muslims entering the U.S. as "an extreme action" and "fundamentally counter to American values."  But he maintained his stance on Syrian refugees entering Illinois, and now Iraqis as well.

Illinois Republicans In Congress Back Closing Borders To Syrian Refugees

​Republicans in Illinois' Congressional delegation are on board with Governor Bruce Rauner's move to temporarily close the state's borders to Syrian refugees in the wake of the terrorist attacks in Paris. The state's eight Republican House members are also condemning President Obama's plan to let in 10,000 refugees from that country this year.
