Rauner Offers Conflicting Statements On Political Cartoon

Illinois Gov. Bruce Rauner offered conflicting statements Tuesday on a political cartoon critics have called racist, first saying he didn't have anything to add to the discussion "as a white male" before walking it back hours later.

School Funding, Cartoon — No Laughing Matter

The entire Illinois House of Representatives stood in unison yesterday to show they didn't like the way CPS was depicted in a political cartoon. Published by the conservative Illinois Policy Institute, this cartoon showed a black child holds a sign begging for school funding.
