U.S. District Court Dismisses Lawsuit Against Dynegy For Polluting The Middle Fork

A federal judge in Urbana has dismissed a lawsuit filed in May by the Prairie Rivers Network against Dynegy Midwest Generation. The ruling by the U.S. District Court for the Central District of Illinois said pollution of surface water through discharges in groundwater isn’t covered by the federal Clean Water Act.

Urbana Park Project Honored With Governor’s Hometown Award

Urbana was one of 23 communities honored in Springfield Thursday with a Governor’s Hometown Award. The awards are given by the governor’s Serve Illinois Commission, for projects sponsored by local governments that had strong volunteer support, met a need and made an impact on the community.

Savoy Village Board Learns Details Of New Solar Farm Plans

The University of Illinois does not need permission from Savoy village officials to build their new solar panel farm on Curtis Road, just outside village limits. But at a Savoy Village Board study session Wednesday night, university officials promised that the 50-acre facility would be a good neighbor.
