U Of I Professor Hopes Research Helps Court Determine Map Standard

The U.S. Supreme Court hears arguments Tuesday in Gill v. Whitford, a Wisconsin case challenging partisan legislative maps. Wendy Tam Cho is a political science professor on the University of Illinois Urbana campus. Cho says this case is particularly important because it could determine the court’s role in future cases on gerrymandering.

More Than 58 People Are Dead After A Mass Shooting On Las Vegas Strip

A gunman who fired upon thousands of people attending a music festival on the Las Vegas Strip has killed more than 58 people, police say. Some 515 others were wounded in the mass shooting and panic that ensued. At least one of the dead is an off-duty police officer who was attending the concert.
