Champaign County Board Chooses One Firm To Run & One To Broker Potential Sale Of Nursing Home

The Champaign County Board is getting ready to hire the same firm to broker a potential sale of its troubled nursing home that brokered the sale of Vermilion County’s nursing home four years ago.  But efore any sale occurs, the county board is hiring a new management firm for the facility, one that specializes in turning around nursing homes with problems.

Champaign Officer Says Shooting Occurred When He Slipped During Foot-Chase

A Champaign police officer remains on paid investigative leave, following his involvement in a shooting incident now under investigation. According to the officer, his gun went off accidentally when his foot slipped while chasing a suspect running from a traffic stop.

Police Continue Search For Missing U Of I Visiting Scholar

University of Illinois police say they've received many responses to their request for information in the case of a visiting scholar from China who has been missing since Friday. Security camera video shows 26-year-old Yingying Zhang climbing into a car on campus and then being driven away. Friends and family have not heard from her since.
