Panel On Airport’s Future Meets With U of I Chancellor

The task force made up of city and county officials, U of I staff, and business personnel spent all of 2014 looking for ways to secure Willard Airport's long-term future. It met with U of I Chancellor Phyllis Wise for the first time Tuesday.

WILL recently launched a series of interviews with some of the artists and creative minds who live and work in central Illinois. That includes Ainslie Heilich, a tattoo artist based in Tuscola who says he turned a childhood fascination with drawing into a successful career in the arts.

Rauner Touts Right-to-Work Areas, Service Tax In Decatur Visit

Gov. Rauner says he wants to create zones in Illinois where local communities could decide whether workers must join a union. He also touted taxes on services during a visit to Richland Community College.

Flight Delayed: Willard Airport Struggles to Stay on Time

Compared to other national airports, Willard has recently ranked near the bottom in on-time departure performance. The regional airport was ranked 285th of 320 national airports in 2013. It is ranked 251st of 324 airports through November 2014.
