The two-time MVP who never lost his boundless enthusiasm for baseball despite years of losing on Cubs teams, died Friday night.

The vote that will come Monday night required a last-minute pardon from former governor Pat Quinn.  Mayor Laurel Prussing expects it to be unanimous.

School Funding Fight Set To Resume In Senate

When it comes to funding public schools, Illinois ranks near the bottom for equity. Legislation designed to change that stalled last session. Lawmakers are revising it to try again.
