Illinois Makes Cameras-In-Court Policy Permanent

The Illinois Supreme Court has deemed a four-year pilot program allowing media coverage at certain trials a success and is making the policy permanent.

Pentagon To Offer Plan For Closing Guantanamo Bay Prison

102nd District House Race Interviews: Randy Peterson

Peterson is one of three Republicans vying to succeed Adam Brown in Illinois' largely rural 102nd District House Race.  A farmer, construction firm manager, and Edgar County Republican Party chair, Peterson has Brown's endorsement in the March 15 primary.  No Democrats have filed to run for the seat.

Kirk ‘Looks Forward’ To Obama Nominating Scalia Replacement

Republican U.S. Sen. Mark Kirk has broken with fellow Republicans, and says President Obama should nominate a replacement for Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia.  The Senator says he swore an oath to uphold the constitution, "not to a party or any one individual.''
