Illinois Issues: Is The State Budget Balanced?

Gov. Bruce Rauner recently criticized the Democrats for passing a spending plan that is more than a billion dollars out of balance, according to analysis from his budget office. That same report noted that if one-time revenues are included, the state could see a surplus at the end of the year.

Danville Federal Courthouse To Become New County Admin Building

​For years, the old post office and federal courthouse building in downtown Danville has been nearly empty, except for Congressman John Shimkus’ office. But over the next few months, the building will become the new home of Vermilion County government.

Illinois Loses Homecoming Game To Unbeaten Wisconsin, 24-10

The Illinois football team lost its homecoming game to No. 5 Wisconsin 24-10 Saturday at Memorial Stadium in Champaign. Badgers Alec Ingold and Garrett Groshek scored on short runs in the first half, offensive lineman Michael Deiter added another touchdown on a trick play late in the game, and Wisconsin remained unbeaten for the season.
