Filing For Election, Finding Lines And Friendship

Monday was an important date on the way to the 2018 elections. It was the beginning of the period when Illinois candidates have to file petitions with, in some cases, thousands of signatures needed to get on the ballot. The filing period lasts a week, but for hundreds of candidates, it was worth it to be in line first thing Monday morning.

Proposal To See Convicted Animal Abusers Lose Gun Rights

Under federal and state law, anyone convicted of domestic violence loses their right to legally own a gun, but there’s a push to also see that penalty extended to anyone convicted of animal abuse.

Illini Men Remain Unbeaten, Top NC Central 86-73

The Illini men's basektball team beat North Carolina Central 86-73 Friday night in Champaign. Michael Finke scored a game-high 22 points and grabbed six rebounds. Aaron Jordan added 16 points for Illinois, shooting 4-5 from three-point range.

Job Growth Mixed In October Across Illinois

The year-over-year unemployment rate fell in all 14 Illinois metro areas, but job growth was mixed, with just eight metro areas adding jobs over the last 12 months.
