Eureka Woman Convicted Of Looting After Tornado

A central Illinois woman has been convicted of felony looting after she collected items from the yard of a retired couple whose Washington home was destroyed by a tornado.

Pope Denounces Euthanasia As “Sin Against God”

Pope Francis denounced the right to die movement Saturday, saying it's a "false sense of compassion'' to consider euthanasia as an act of dignity when in fact it's a sin against God and creation.

Illinois Beats Georgia Southern 80-71 In Men’s Basketball Opener

Georgia Southern gave the Illini men’s basketball team all they could handle Friday night at the State Farm Center in Champaign. The final score was 80-71 in favor of Illinois, but with under three minutes to go, it was a four point game.

Kilgore Could Return To U Of I, Following Trustees’ Decision

James Kilgore could return to teaching at the University of Illinois, despite controversy over a past felony conviction. The Board of Trustees has said it’s leaving decisions on hiring him to those at the campus level.

Kennedy To Leave U of I Board In January

University of Illinois Chairman Christopher Kennedy says he plans to leave the school's board of trustees when his term ends in January.
