Unions Sue For Continued Illinois Health Care-Claim Payments

AFSCME and other unions say Rauner's decision this month to stop payments for medical claims for about 146,000 state workers and retirees is an unconstitutional contract violation.

Rauner Administration Fires Illinois Lottery Manager

The governor is ending the contract of Northstar Lottery Group. Rauner's adminstration says a new private manager will take over day-to-day operation of the lottery by January 2017.

University Employees Dealing With Frozen Medical Claims

Union leaders are dealing with concerns from some members that some self-insured health plan payments for state employees have been halted as a result of the state budget impasse.  Four providers are asking members to upfront at the time of an appointment, and will be reimbursed later.
