Night Of ‘Corporate Musicals’ Coming To Champaign

Veteran David Letterman late night writer Steve Young has compiled dozens of recordings from trade shows and conventions, songs from companies ranging from car manufacturers to beer breweries to General Electric.  "The Lost World of Industrial Musicals" comes to the Art Theater Co-op in Champaign Friday night.

2 Suspects Dead After San Bernardino Shooting That Killed 14

Law enforcement officers in San Bernardino, Calif., killed two people suspected of killing 14 people and wounding 17 others in a shooting at the Inland Regional Center on Wednesday.

Inmate Dies At Satellite Jail, Foul Play Not Suspected

Champaign County Sheriff's Dan Walsh says Toya Frazier 45, of Savoy, was found not breathing in her cell early Tuesday evening, and later pronounced dead at Carle Hospital.  Sheriff Dan Walsh believes that a medical issue is the likely cause, but Illinois State Police will investigate the matter.  A preliminary autopsy didn't reveal a cause of death.

Candidate, Former Prosecutor Zopp Denounces Laquan McDonald Delay

A former prosecutor in the Cook County State's Attorney's office says it took far too long to investigate the shooting death of Chicago teen Laquan McDonald at the hands of a white police officer. That prosecutor happens to be running for U.S. Senate.

Chicago Police Superintendent McCarthy Fired

Chicago Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy has been fired after widespread criticism for his handling of a high-profile shooting of a black teenager that led to white officer being charged with first degree murder.  Protesters have been calling for McCarthy's dismissal.

Standoff In Rantoul Ends In Apparent Suicide

Champaign County Coroner Duane Northrup said Jacob K. Morrissey, 26, Mahomet, was pronounced dead at 12:45 a.m. Tuesday.  A report from the Champaign County Sheriff says Morrissey appears to have shot himself while in the attic of a Rantoul home late Monday night.
