Industry To Seek Changes In ‘Fracking’ Rules

Supporters of high-volume oil and gas extraction said Wednesday that they'll seek dozens of changes in proposed rules to govern the practice in Illinois that appear to violate a hard-won compromise between industry and environmentalists.

Ferguson’s Plan To Cut Back On Court Fees Could Inspire Change

Ferguson, Missouri's City Council met for the first time since the shooting of 18-year-old Michael Brown. Members have proposed addressing one source of tension -- and cut back on the heavy collection of court fines and fees that hurt low-income people the most.

Measles is often lumped in with flu and chickenpox as mild childhood illnesses. But people who got measles during outbreaks in the United Kingdom say they were pretty darned sick, missing two weeks of school or work on average.

NCAA Lifts Penn State’s Postseason Ban, Restores Scholarships

Penn State football got out from under the most severe on-field sanctions imposed on it two years ago over the Jerry Sandusky child abuse scandal, learning Monday that the NCAA will allow it to compete in this year's postseason and that all scholarships will return in 2015.
