Illinois Considers Taxing Retirement Income

Illinois’ top leaders have put off discussing how to resolve the state’s budget impasse until January. But given the state's growing deficit, they'll eventually confront the problem, including the need to find new revenue sources for state government.  The leading group for retirees is on the offensive over one particular tax break.

Rauner: November Meeting With Leaders More For Media

Republican Governor Bruce Rauner and the state's Democratic legislative leaders are scheduled to meet on November 18th in an effort to end Illinois' budget impasse.  But when asked about it Friday, Rauner said the open public meeting is more for the media's benefit than real compromise.
