2022 race for Illinois Secretary of State

The Illinois primary election is happening on June 28, 2022. As of June 1, 2022, the State Board of Elections reports that 12,199 ballots have been cast, including more than 3,800 by mail.

Secretary of State Jesse White is retiring after a record-breaking six terms in office. Democratic candidates Alexi Gionnoulias, David Moore, Sidney Moore and Anna Valencia and two Republican candidates Dan Brady and John Milhiser are campaigning to succeed White. The. 21st spoke to two journalists to hear more.
