Election 2022: Secretary of State Candidate Dan Brady

Longtime Illinois State Representative Dan Brady is the 2022 Republican Secretary of State nominee. Born in Bloomington, he received his associate degree at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. He first became an elected official in 1992, when he was elected as McLean County Coroner. His Democratic opponent is Alexi Giannoulias, who served as treasurer of Illinois from 2007 to 2011. Current Secretary Jesse White prepares to step down after six terms in office. 

The Illinois Secretary of State’s office manages Illinois’ drivers licenses and license plates, among other duties.Early voting in Illinois begins September 29. Election Day is November 8.
