Illinois is becoming more diverse, more educated and yes, growing

A popular talking point during the 2022 campaign season was that Illinois lost population 2010-2020. But a new study that looks at Illinois’ population data indicates Illinois residents are becoming better educated, higher paid, and more diverse. However, older residents, Black residents and rural residents are leaving the state.
