Illinois TV special looks at how communities of color are preparing for climate change

How prepared are Black and Latino communities for Climate Change? That's the focus on the fhird annual State of Change TV documentary, which is produced by Illinois Public Media. It airs Thursday, November 9 at 7:30 p.m. on WILL-TV. Production funding for the documentary was made possible by the Backlund Charitable Trust. The program looks at the following:

  • How the hottest year in human record affected Illinoisans
  • How climate change is breaking down our bodies
  • Waukegan: rising concerns in a community surrounded by five EPA superfund sites
  • Can building sustainable housing in 2023 be affordable to all?
  • Black communities in Peoria and Danville planting green space
