How A Central Illinois Honky Tonk Goes Virtual

 

The Rose Bowl Tavern in Urbana has been a local spot for live music since the 1940s, where one could hear everything from a Brazilian music to indie acts. During the COVID-19 pandemic, patrons can’t come out for live music — so the Rose Bowl is going to them.

Charlie Harris, co-owner and a muscian who plays in the band Bone Jugs, joins The 21st to tell us more about how the honkey tonk is adapting.
