Two of the outstanding women violinists of the mid-twentieth century were Erika Morini and Ida Haendel. Both Morini, from Vienna, and Haendel, from Poland, were child prodigies, and they both had long and distinguished careers, and made many successful recordings.

On this week's Classics of the Phonograph, Saturday at 11 am on WILL-FM, we will sample some of these recordings, including the first movement of the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto as recorded by Erika Morini.
