The German conductor Hermann Scherchen made a wide array of recordings for the Westminster label. He was an ardent supporter of the symphonies of Gustav Mahler and the in the 1950s he made some trail-blazing recordings of those monumental works. On Saturday at 11, we will play his recording of Mahler's 7th symphony, "The Song of the Night."
