On the Monday edition of "Live and Local," we'll meet some of the folks involved in the Illini Union Board fall musical at the University of Illinois, Rodgers & Hammerstein's "Cinderella," and hear some songs live in our studio. I'll also talk with Milt Allen, conductor of the Eastern Illinois University Wind Symphony, about the group's Veteran's Day concert.

On Friday's "Live and Local," I'll talk with singer-songwriter Neko Case, who appears at the Canopy Club in Urbana Friday night; flutist and dancer Kevin Locke, who performs with his Native Dance Ensemble in Springfield next Tuesday; and the Xtension Chords, who present their X-fest of a-cappella groups at the University of Illinois on Saturday.
On Thursday's "Live and Local," we'll hear a live in-studio performance by legendary Irish uilleann piper Paddy Keenan and singer-guitarist Patsy O'Brien, in town to perform on the Piper's Hut Concert Series. We'll also talk with Julie Beyler, director of The Chorale, giving a concert in Urbana on Sunday, and their special guest, composer René Clausen.
On the Wednesday edition of "Live and Local," we'll feature three of the eight University of Illinois a cappella groups appearing in Friday night's I-Cappella extravaganza: The Other Guys-all-male, as the name suggests-the Xtension Chords, also all-male, and the host group, the coed No Strings Attached, who perform live in our studio.
The University of Illinois has quite a number of student a cappella groups, and all of them will come together this Friday for an I-Cappella extravaganza. This week on "Live and Local," we'll feature several of those ensembles, including The Rip Chords, an all-women group, on the Tuesday edition of the show.
