Body Identified as Missing Hoopeston Woman

 

Authorities in Vermilion County have identified a body found Sunday near Hoopeston as 33-year old Amanda Walters-Pentecost, who had been missing for nearly a month.

County Coroner Peggy Johnson identified the body after a preliminary autopsy was conducted Monday morning. Results show Walters-Pentecost died from cold exposure.

Her body was found southeast of Hoopeston. Toxicology tests are pending.

The Hoopeston woman was reported missing in the city on Jan. 31. 

Both the coroner and Vermilion County Sheriff's Department are continuing their investigations.
