Lanesskog Resigns from Unit 4 School Board

The Champaign School District says board member Stig Lanesskog has stepped down.

Lanesskog was first elected to the board in 2009, and served as its president for six months until losing out to current president, Laurie Bonnet.

Bonnet said she does not know any of the details behind Lanesskog’s resignation, but she says his replacement has to be chosen within 45 days.

“I look forward to hearing from people who want to be involved and engaged in the school board, and that are willing to commit the time and energy that it’s going to take to move our district forward,” Bonnet said.

Unit 4 Superintendent Judy Wiegand said the District will work closely with the Regional Office of Education to fill the open School Board seat for the remainder of the term, which expires in April 2015.

Lanesskog did not immediately return a request for comment.
