Attorney and former Miss America Erika Harold will announce her plans to run for public office at a news conference Tuesday morning at 10 AM, outside of Urbana High School.

The public is invited to the event.

Urbana will be the first stop in a three-day, 15-city media tour of downstate Illinois for Harold. The 33-year-old Republican recently moved back to Champaign-Urbana from the Chicago area.

Harold hasn’t disclosed what office she plans to run for. But last year, she was a contender for the Republican nomination for Congress in the 13th District, after Tim Johnson bowed out. Republican county chairmen nominated the eventual winner, Rodney Davis over Harold and other contenders.
