Quinn Criticizes Rauner At Rare Public Appearance

In one of his first appearances since leaving office, former Illinois Governor Pat Quinn took shots at his successor.

Quinn said Governor Bruce Rauner’s proposed budget is the worst he’s seen in state history.

Quinn says he’s being unfair to everyday people. The former gov. also says Rauner's recent calls for the weakening of unions in Illinois is out of line.

"People should have a right to have a union and negotiate their wages, their working conditions, their benefits," he said. "Clearly, that's being attacked by Rauner and we've got to fight back."

Rauner, a Republican ousted Quinn, a Democrat in November.

Quinn says pushing consumer rights and organizing are in his immediate future.

But he didn't rule out a future run for public office.
