Preserving historic sites in Illinois

Built in 1969 and designed by Otto Stark of C.F. Since 1995, Illinois’ leading historic preservation nonprofit, Landmarks, has asked preservationists, community leaders and citizens to nominate threatened or endangered historic properties for its annual list, "The Most Endangered Historic Places in Illinois." From the Century and Consumers Buildings in the Loop in Chicago to Elk’s Lodge No. 64 in Rockford, this year’s list encompasses a variety of properties that are rundown, vacant, facing demolition or major redevelopment changes.

To talk about buildings that made the list this year and historic preservation efforts around the state, we were joined by a panel of advocates and historic preservationists.
