It’s Almost FAFSA Time; What’s New In 2016

Saturday is the first day that prospective college students and their families can begin filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA for short.  That’s much earlier than in previous years, and that’s not the only change in the FAFSA process in 2016.

Illinois Public Media’s Brian Moline spoke with Lisa Micele, College and Careers Counselor at Urbana’s University Laboratory High School about changes to the FAFSA, and why it’s so important.

Micele says college students need an updated FAFSA each year, so current students and their families will need to fill it out again if they’ll be in college next year.
