I’ll present a special concert for longtime music lovers in the area. Paul Vermel, past conductor of the C-U Symphony, returns as guest conductor to lead the orchestra in the Symphonic Sketches by English composer George Whitefield Chadwick. A world premiere is also on the program, Arials by John Orfe. And we meet and hear Dmitry Kouzov, a brilliant cellist and member of the U of I strings faculty. He will perform the first Cello Concerto by Dmitri Shostakovich.
