Wednesday night April 24 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL-FM 90.9 it’s the San Francisco Symphony led by Music Director Esa-Pekka Salonen. You’ll hear Berlioz’s “Symphonie fantastique”, Liszt’s “Totentanz” with pianist Bertrand Chamayou, and Mussorgsky’s “Night on Bald Mountain”.

The program also includes the famous "Night on Bald Mountain" by Mussorgsky.

'Music of the Night' like "Night on Bald Mountain', "Transfigured Night" and others are "Central" (Park in the Dark) to the program.

Mitsuko Uchida is the soloist for the Beethoven piano concerto.

"....Bald Mountain" was written in 1876, "Don Juan" followed in 1888...technically they are both "tone poems", amd famous ones at that.
