Sunday night June 29th, 2014 on the Evening Concert on WILL-FM 90.9, it’s “The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center” with Mozart’s Horn Quintet, K.407 and Beethoven’s String Quintet, Op. 29, followed by “The Santa Fe Chamber Music Series” featuring pianist Garrick Ohlsson.
Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL-FM, 90.9 … it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week” with an all-MOZART program. Emanuel Ax is the soloist in Mozart’s 22nd Piano Concerto; Philip Myers, Mark Nuccio and others are the soloists in the “Sinfonia Concertante” in G"; plus there’s the 25th and 36th Symphonies.
Tonight's Evening Concert features pianist Helene Grimaud playing Ravel's "Piano Concerto in G" with LA Philharmonic. Music Director Gustavo Dudamel conducts. Maestro Dudamel opens the program with Mozart's Serenata Notturna and ends with Mozart's 36th Symphony, the Linz, the symphony getting it's title from the fact that Mozart wrote it quite rapidly during a visit to the city of Linz in Austria.
Tonight at 7:00 on WILL-FM’s, “Evening Concert” it’s the Chicago Symphony Orchestra led by Music Director Riccardo Muti. Pianist Rudolf Buchbinder is the soloist in Beethoven’s 4th Piano Concerto. Maestro Muti opens the program with “Siegfried’s Rhine Journey and Funeral March” from “Wagner’s “Twilight of the Gods” and ends with Bruckner’s 1st Symphony.
Tonight at 7:00 on “The Evening Concert” on WILL-FM 90.9: it’s back-to-back episodes of “Fiesta!”. Hour One is “Bandoneon: The Voice of Tango and features, as expected, works by Astor Piazzolla and his countrymen. The second hour is “Two to Tango”, as in, “It takes two to tango”, featuring instrumental tango duets or duos.
This week the "Evening Concert” features Tango on “Fiesta!, then Riccardo Muti leads the Chicago Symphony Orchestra in Bruckner's 1st Symphony, pianist Helene Grimaud plays Ravel's "Piano Concerto in G" with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, “The New York Philharmonic This Week is an all Mozart event, then Friday it's “Prairie Performances” and Sunday, “The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center” AND our latest addition for summer-only “The Santa Fe Chamber Music Series”. "The Evening Concert" is heard Monday through Friday and Sunday evenings at 7:00 on WILL, FM-90.9.
Tonight at 7:00 on the Evening Concert on WILL-FM 90.9, theh Miro Quartet Plays Dvorak's String Quartet, Op.105 on “The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center”. Alson on the program, clarinetist David Schifrin plays Schumann's "Fairy Tales". At 8:00 it's “The Santa Fe Chamber Music Series” featuring pianist Garrick Ohlsson.
Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL-FM, 90.9 … it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week”. The Philharmonic is joined by mezzo-soprano Bernarda Fink, the Women of the New York Choral Artists, and the Brooklyn Youth Chorus in Mahler’s majestic “Symphony No. 3”. Bernard Haitink guest conducts.
Uber-talent Lang Lang is the soloist in Prokofiev’s 3rd Piano Concerto with the Los Angeles Philharmonic led by Music Director Gustavo Dudamel. The program opens with the “The Noble and Sentimental Waltzes” of Maurice Ravel and closes with contemporary composer Paul Desenne's "Sinfonía Burocratica ed’ Amazzonica".
