Tonight at 7:00 on "The Evening Concert" on WILL-FM, it’s the Los Angeles Philharmonic led by guest conductor and composer John Adams. It’s an all-American-music program with Michael Gordon’s “Sunshine of Your Love”, written in 1999, Terry Riley’s “At the Royal Majestic” which was written just last year…., and John Adams “Naïve and Sentimental Music” from 1998.

Tonight at 7:00 on WILL-FM’s, “Evening Concert” Cristian Macelaru conducts Stravinsky “Miniatures”. CSO Principal Clarinetist John Bruce Yeh is the soloist in the “Three Pieces for Clarinet Solo”. Also on the program the “Suite No.1 for Small Orchestra, the Pulcinella Suite, Three Japanese Lyrics, and the “Cat’s Cradle Songs”.

The word Canyengue is Brazilian slang from the African Ki-Kongo language which means “melting with the music.” Host Elbio Barilari explains the African influence on Latin American concert music with music by Camargo Guarnieri, Lamarque Pons, Amadeo Roldan, Ricardo Lorenz and others.

This week it’s “Fiesta!, Latin American Music with Elbio Barilari”, then the Chicago Symphony Orchestra as Cristian Macelaru conducts Stravinsky miniatures, the Los Angeles Philharmonic featuring three living American composers, “The New York Philharmonic This Week” with Artist-in-Residence Emanuel Ax in Haydn’s 11th Piano Concerto; “Prairie Performances” and Sunday, “The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center” AND our latest addition for summer-only “The Santa Fe Chamber Music Series”.

Following that, at 8:00, we've added another hour of chamber music for the summer months: "The 2013 Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival". The Festival opens with music of Alfredo Piatti, Anton Arensky, and Gustav Mahler.

Maestro Riccardo Muti conducts. Also on the program Wagner’s “Flying Dutchman” Overture, Scriabin’s “The Divine Poem” and Haydn’s 34th Symphony.
