The Dranoff International 2 Piano Competition - 176 Keys to The World (Ep.4)

Tonight at 7:00 on the "The Evening Concert" on WILL-FM it’s the Dranoff international Two Piano Competition. Duo Yamamoto plays Poulenc’s “Concerto for Two Pianos and Orchestra” and Debussy’s arrangement of Schumann’s ‘Canonic Etudes’. Also on the program Duo Yoo and Kim plays Ravel’s “Introduction and Allegro” and Saint-Saens “Variations on a theme of Beethoven.

This Week (Mar 31 - Apr 6, 2014) on “The Evening Concert” on WILL-FM

This week on “The Evening Concert” we start with the last of the Dranoff international Two Piano Competition, then it’s “A Classical All-Fool’s Day”, an original production from Illinois Public Media; Wednesday we start a new series from the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Thursday it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week” and Friday "Prairie Performances with Roger Cooper". Starting Sunday April 6th at 7:00 p.m. we add another day of the week to the "Evening Concert" series, with chamber music every Sunday evening from The Chamber Music Society of Lincon Center. Also on the program Jerome Moross’ “The Last Judgement” in a special two piano arrangement played by Duo-Impulse, Lutoslawski’s “Paganini Variations” played by Duo Boheme and Victor Babin’s  Concerto for Two Pianos and Orchestra.

Thursday, it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week” and Friday… Prairie Performances with Roger Cooper".

Wynton Marsalis’ “Swing” Symphony on “The New York Philharmonic This Week”

Tonight at 7:00 on WILL-FM’s “Evening Concert” . . . WyntonMarsalis and his “Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra” join theNew York Philharmonic for his “Symphony No.3”, the “Swing”Symphony. Also on the program Copland’s “Clarinet Concerto”,Stravinsky's "Ragtime for 11 Instrments" and Shostakovich's"Tahiti Trot" (a re-orchestration of Vincent Youmans'"Tea for Two" that the composer made in 45 minutes on achallenge from one of his composition professors!).
