The Evening Concert

Friday night December 27 at 7:00 on WILL 90.9 FMHD1 it’s “Early Music Now with Sara Schneider”. You'll hear a program titled “A Child is Born in Bethlehem”.  Broadcasting this program on Friday’s at 7:00 PM gives us time to collect new local recordings for use on future “Prairie Performances”. 

Thursday night December 26 at 7:00 on WILL 90.9 FMHD1 we pre-empt “The Sound of 13” to bring you a holiday special “The Sounds of Kwanzaa” hosted by Garrett McQueen. At 8:00 it’s “The Middle”: a weekly, non-partisan call-in talk show on politics. 

Wednesday night December 25 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL 90.9 FMHD1 we pre-empt our regularly scheduled concert broadcast so we can bring you the annual Holiday Special: “A Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols” recorded yesterday in Cambridge, England.

Tuesday night December 24 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL 90.9 FMHD1 we pre-empt the “Chicago Symphony Orchestra” so we can bring you the annual Holiday Special: “A Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols” as recorded earlier in the day in Cambridge, England.

Monday night December 23 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL 90.9 FMHD1 we pre-empt “The New York Philharmonic This Week” to bring you a two-hour holiday special “The St. Olaf Christmas Festival 2024”: 150 years of the St. Olaf Christmas Festival.

Sunday night December 22 at 6:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL 90.9 FMHD1 we pre-empt “The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center” for the holiday special “All is Bright", then we present “A Classical Christmas” on “Fiesta”, and then pre-empt “Gateways Radio” for the holiday special “Welcome Christmas”.

Wednesday night December 18 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL 90.9 FMHD1 we pre-empt our regularly scheduled concert broadcast so that we can bring you two holiday specials “365 Holidays with the Canadian Brass” and “Carols As Home with the Imani Winds”.

Tuesday night December 17 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL 90.9 FMHD1 the “Chicago Symphony Orchestra Radio Broadcast” is pre-empted so we can bring you two Holiday Specials: “Winter Holidays Around the World with Bill McGlaughlin” and “Three Tales of Christmas with Cantus”.
