Wednesday night February 28 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL-FM 90.9 you’ll hear Debussy’s “La Mer” (The Sea) from the National Centre for the Performing Arts, Beijing. Also on the program Saint-Saens’ “2nd Piano Concerto” featuring soloist Chen Sa.
Tuesday night February 27 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL-FM 90.9 it’s the “Chicago Symphony Orchestra Radio Broadcast”. You’ll hear Holst’s “The Planets” and Schumann’s “Overture to Manfred”. Daniel Harding guest conducts. Also on the program, Brahms’ “Song of Destiny”.
Monday night February 26 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL-FM 90.9 it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week”. Alan Gilbert conducts the three last symphonies of Mozart: the Symphony No. 39, the Symphony No. 40 in G Minor, and the Symphony No. 41.
Sunday night February 25 at 6:00 on the “Evening Concert” on (WILL)-FM 90.9 you’ll hear a special program on Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue” followed at 7:00 by “Women Composers from Mexico” on Fiesta and at 8:00 by “Take Me to The Water”, a Black HIstory Month special.
Thursday night February 22 at 7:00 on WILL-FM 90.9 you’ll hear another episode of “The Sound of 13” hosted by Garrett McQueen, a program that examines the intersection between the 13th Amendment and music. At 8:00 it’s “The Middle”: a weekly, non-partisan call-in talk show on politics.
Wednesday night February 21 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL-FM 90.9 you’ll hear Bruckner’s “7th Symphony” from the National Centre for the Performing Arts, Beijing. Also on the program Guo Wenjing’s Passacaglia for Orchestra, “Riyue Mountain”.
Tuesday night February 20 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL-FM 90.9 it’s the “Chicago Symphony Orchestra Radio Broadcast”. Maestros Barenboim, Boulez, and Solti conduct the CSO with the Chicago Symphony Chorus under the direction of chorus found Margaret Hillis in Bartok’s “Cantata Profana” and Brahms’ “A German Requiem”.
Monday night February 19 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL-FM 90.9 it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week”. Pierre Boulez conducts two historic performances taken from the orchestra’s archives. Jessye Norman sings Berg’s concert aria “Der Wein” and Yvonne Minton is the soloist in Mahler’s “3rd Symphony”.
Sunday night February 18 at 6:00 on the “Evening Concert” on (WILL)-FM 90.9 you’ll hear Franck’s “String Quartet” from Lincoln Center followed at 7:00 by “Cuban Maestros” on Fiesta and at 8:00 by “Take Me to The Water”.
Thursday night February 15 at 7:00 on WILL-FM 90.9 we pre-empt “The Sound of 13” to bring you a Black History Month special “Take Me to the Water”, a program that touches on themes from African mythology and water’s transportive nature. At 8:00 it’s “The Middle”: a weekly, non-partisan call-in talk show on politics.
