Yuja Wang Plays Rachmaninoff’s 3rd Piano Concerto with the Los Angeles Philharmonic

Tonight at 7:00 on “The Evening Concert” on WILL-FM, it’s the Los Angeles Philharmonic led by Music Director Gustavo Dudamel. Yuja Wang is the soloist in Rachmaninoff’s 3rd Piano Concerto.  Also on the program, Stravinsky’s “Petrushka” and Daniel Bjarnson’s “Blow bright” for orchestra, a Los Angeles Philharmonic commission.

Tonight at 7:00 on WILL-FM’s, “Evening Concert” Sir Mark Elder guest conducts the Chicago Symphony Orchestra in Shostakovich’s 1st Symphony in F Minor, Op.10. Also on the program Dvorak’s Tone Poem “The Golden Spinning Wheel” and Berlioz’s “Nuit d’ete [new-wee deh-tay] [Summer Nights] song cycle with mezzo-soprano Alice Coote.

Verdi’s “Requiem” on “Salzburg Festival 2013” on “The Evening Concert”

Tonight at 7:00 on the "The Evening Concert" on WILL-FM it’s the third episode of “Salzburg Festival 2013”. Last year was the 100th anniversary of the birth of Giuseppe Verdi. To commemorate that  Riccardo Muti leads the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, the Concert Chorus of the Vienna State Opera, and vocal soloists in Verdi’s monumental “Requiem”.
