The Evening Concert

Thursday night January 23 at 7:00 on WILL 90.9 FMHD1 you’ll hear "Classical Music" from the "Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival": Marc Neikrug’s “Oboe Quartet” and Bach’s “E Major Violin Concerto”.

Wednesday night January 22 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL 90.9 FMHD1 it’s the third program in a new series from the Cleveland Orchestra. You’ll hear Joplin’s “Treemonisha Overture”, and William Grant Still’s “Darker America”. Also on the program Bernard Herrmann’s Suite from Vertigo”.

Tuesday night January 21 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL 90.9 FMHD1 it’s the “Chicago Symphony Orchestra Radio Broadcast”. You’ll hear Wagner’s “Prelude to Act I of Lohengrin” and Lowell Liebermann’s “2nd Flute Concerto”.  Also on the program Mahler’s “4th Symphony”.

Monday night January 20 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL 90.9 FMHD1 it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week”. You’ll hear William Russo’s “2nd Symphony”, Duke Ellington’s “A Tone Parallel to Harlem” featuring trumpeter Wynton Marsalis and an abridged version of Copland’s “The Tender Land”.  

Sunday night January 19 at 6:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL 90.9 FMHD1 you’ll hear Fanny Mendelssohn’s “Piano Trio” and Ravel’s “Piano Trio” on the “Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center”. At 7:00 o’clock you’ll hear selections from an 18th century opera on “Fiesta”.

Friday night January 17 at 7:00 on WILL 90.9 FMHD1 it’s “Early Music Now with Sara Schneider”. You'll hear a program titled “The Romance of the Rose” featuring Sabine Lutzenberger’s group Per-Sonat. The program differs from the listing in Patterns Magazine.

Thursday night January 16 at 7:00 on WILL 90.9 FMHD1 you’ll hear "Classical Music" from the "Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival": Ravel’s “Introduction and Allegro” and Schubert’s “Trout” Quintet”.

Wednesday night January 15 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL 90.9 FMHD1 you’ll hear the second program in a new series from the Cleveland Orchestra. You’ll hear Schubert’s “Unfinished Symphony” and Berg’s “Lyric Suite”. Franz Welser-Most conducts. Also on the program Schubert’s “Mass No. 6”.

Tuesday night January 14 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL 90.9 FMHD1 it’s the “Chicago Symphony Orchestra Radio Broadcast”. You’ll hear Wagner’s “Overture to Tannhauser” and Rachmaninoff’s “2nd Symphony”.  Also on the program Jessie Montgomery’s “Transfigure to Grace” and Coleridge-Taylor’s “Solemn Prelude”.

Monday night January 13 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL 90.9 FMHD1 it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week”. You’ll hear Schumann’s “2nd Symphony in C Major” and Ives’ “The Unanswered Question”. Also on the program Beethoven’s “4th Piano Concerto” with Emanuel Ax as soloist.
