Wednesday night December 14 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the “Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra”. Music Director Ken-David Masur leads the group in Bruckner’s “7th Symphony”. Also on the program Mozart’s 23rd Piano Concerto with soloist Jorge Federico Osorio.
Tuesday night December 13 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the “Chicago Symphony Orchestra Radio Broadcast”. Guest conductor Herbert Blomstedt leads the CSO in Brahms' “2nd Symphony”. Also on the program Mozart’s 23rd Piano Concerto with soloist Bertrand Chamayou.
Monday night December 12 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week” with their “Winter Holiday Playlist” program. You’ll hear selections from Tchaikovsky’s “Nutcracker” ballet, Leroy Anderson’s “Sleigh Ride”, “Winter” from Vivaldi’s “Four Seasons” and much, much more.
Sunday night December 11 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 you’ll hear Tara Helen O’Connor as soloist in one of Mozart's “Flute Quartets” on the “Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center”. At 8:00 you’ll hear symphonic music of Spanish composer Tomás Bretón on “Fiesta”.
Thursday night December 8 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the “Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra”. Guest conductor John Stogaards makes his Heinz Hall debut leading the Orchestra in Holst’s “The Planets”. Also on the program Mozart’s “4th Horn Concerto” with soloist William Cabalerro.
Wednesday night December 7 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the “Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra”. Music Director Laureate Edo de Waart leads the group in Beethoven’s “Pastoral” Symphony and Delius’ “In a Summer Garden”. Also on the program Elgar’s “Cello Concerto” with soloist Susan Babini.
Tuesday night December 6 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the “Chicago Symphony Orchestra Radio Broadcast”. Guest conductor Erina Yashima leads the CSO in Schubert’s “5th Symphony” and the “Novelettes Nos. 3 and 5” by Samuel Coleridge-Taylor. Also on the program Kodaly’s “Dances of Galanta”.
Monday night December 5 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week”. Music Director Jaap van Zweden leads the Philharmonic in Tchaikovsky’s “5th Symphony” and selections from Prokofiev’s “Romeo and Juliet” ballet music. Also on the program Britten’s “Sinfonia da Requiem”.
Sunday night December 4 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 you’ll hear three Bach cantatas, numbers 12, 72 and 168 on the “Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center”. At 8:00 you’ll hear music by Manuel Ponce, Pablo de Sarasate and others on “Fiesta”.
Thursday night December 1 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the “Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra”. Beatrice Rana is the soloist in Tchaikovsky’s “1st Piano Concerto”. Music Director Manfred Honeck conducts. Also on the program Poulenc’s “Gloria” and Dvorak’s “Te Deum”.
